U16's 5 v Pembroke Dock 22

The under 16s travelled down to Pembroke Dock for the first game of the season with the squad looking fit from preseason training and their cryotherapy session in Poland!!!!!!. They started well with the wind on their backs, playing some good rugby and using the wind to good affect, but it was some last ditch tackling from the Dock that kept us at bay, until just before the break, when Fishguard had the break through they deserved with some relentless pressure from us on the Dock try line with captain Steffan Lewis crashing over in the corner with the help of his forwards. Half time 5 ~ 0

Second half started much the same as the first, with the Seagulls keeping the ball to hand to good affect against the wind, but fair play to the Dock they upped their game and started to take a strangle hold on the game, with their first try coming with some good work from their backs. Their second come soon after from a turn over ball in the centre of the park. They ran in another 2 tries and 1 conversion as Fishguard made a couple of mistakes and lost some crucial ball, to make the final score 22 - 5, but fair play to the boys they never gave up and fought hard right to the whistle. Good effort boys, but a lot to work on for the season!
