FORMER SEAGULL WYN GRUFYDD AT FISHGUARD CLUBHOUSE

Sports Commentator and Broadcaster Wyn Gruffydd attended Fishguard & Goodwick Rugby Club as guest speaker for an evening with the former Fishguard & Goodwick player with the proceeds going towards Motor Neurone Disease. Wyn, who has been in TV and Radio commentary and presenting work for over thirty years, entertained a packed house at the Club. Wyn has travelled all over the world covering Rugby, Seven-a-side, Cycling, Rallying and Horse Racing in both English and Welsh as well as the Royal Welsh show and agricultural events. Wyn provided the audience with a mixture of entertaining anecdotes from  his sports coverage and during his playing days at Fishguard during the 1980’s. Jonathan Jones said that the club was very proud to able to host events in the club’s new function room – the Cove - saying “ it was a real special opportunity to invite back former seagull Wyn and to hear many entertaining stories from his long and successful broadcasting career and to raise money for this cruel disease”. Wyn will be shortly be leaving for Japan to cover his eighth Rugby World Cup having covered the Under 20’S Rugby World Cup in May in addition to his Seven –a-side commitments taking in Dubai, South Africa, New Zealand, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Paris as well as other Pro 14 Rugby commitments during the coming rugby season.

 Wyn was presented with a cheque for £450.00 for Motor Neurone Disease by Club President Martin Williams and Club Chairman Jonathan Jones.
