Abbie is a 22 year old girl from Fishguard, who suffers from a rare brain tumour. Her family are fundraising to get her to America so that she can receive proton beam therapy, and to help any other families on the same journey to receive proton beam therapy too.
Abbie's Story
In May 2013, when Abbie was 19 she was diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a rare brain tumour. It took 3 years going back and forth to the GP before Abbie was referred. An MRI scan showed a walnut like tumour. In October 2013 Abbie underwent urgent surgery to remove a large amount of the tumour. News arrived in February 2016, on her 22nd birthday, unfortunately not good. It showed the tumour has started to grow. Her doctors say the best way forward will be a course of Proton Beam Therapy in USA.
